Bluegrass Vascular Announces New Paper Reporting Use of the Surfacer® System via Transcollateral Approach
San Antonio, TX – Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, a private medical technology company focused on innovating lifesaving devices and methods for vascular access procedures, announced today the publication of a paper reporting on the use of the Surfacer® System to perform the Inside-Out® procedure via transcollateral approach.
“The Surfacer® Inside-out® system represents a new approach to restore right-sided central venous access in chronic thoracic venous occlusion by the inside-out recanalization technique” stated Dr. Andrej Klepanec, PhD, MPH, EBIR, from the Department of Radiology at University Hospital Trnava in Trnava, Slovakia and lead author on the paper. “In this paper, we report the first case to our knowledge of dialysis access restoration with Surfacer system implantation via an unconventional and non-standard route by a transcollateral approach in a patient with exhausted vascular access options.”
